Woodey Promotes Sustainability With Wooden Frame Sunglasses | London Accessory Week

Tell us a little about you and your brand. Who are you, and what products do you design for your brand?


Woodey is a California-based company that specializes in producing wooden sunglasses. We have a simple mission to educate others about nature and inspire you to take a slight step toward sustainability and zero waste movement. We want to be a daily reminder that our planet is a gift to humanity and that we can create unique products without polluting our planet. We started with the idea of changing the world for the better. We strive to achieve a zero-waste sustainable lifestyle, through our all-natural handcrafted sunglasses. We believe that everyone can make a positive impact and even minor changes can make an enormous difference. Woodey's commitment to sustainability is clear throughout all our pairs of sunglasses and is part of the brand’s mission to be a responsible, transparent, and modern company.


How would you describe your design/product concept?


Here at Woodey we only use quality materials for our real wood sunglasses, they are hand-crafted and the finishes are flawless. Our sunglasses stand out from our competitors for the build quality and uniqueness of the wooden frames as well as the highest-grade polarized lens we use in our sunnies. The comfort of our glasses is one of a kind! You will forget that you wear your glasses thanks to the lightness of the wood with which they are made.



What is your dream project? If there are no limitations, what would you like to create?


Our dream project is to provide eco-friendly sunglasses across the globe and educate people about sustainability. We have partners ranging from small boutiques to large digital distributors to gifting platforms. We are working on a metaverse concept where our customers can virtually try sunglasses by standing in front of a mirror in a shopping mall. Just imagine you are in a shopping mall and you find a display screen, you stand in front of it where you can try our different sunglasses. On that screen, you can also try your favourite pair of shoes, hats, and shirts so that you can decide on head-to-toe accessories from across-the-globe brands.


How do you feel about showcasing your design at London Accessory Week?


After great success in the US, we were looking for partners in Europe to expand. When we connected with the London Accessory Week team, we were thrilled. This is a great platform for international brands to showcase their products to an audience which cares about Sustainable Fashion.
